Tell us where you keep stock and how many tubs you have. You’ll get an Excel spreadsheet with the rows, dropdowns and calculations set up, plus a CSV you can import into Deathpile later.
Make your template
Add the storage you already use.
Start with the room, shed or storage unit. Add the type of container and how many you have. The template then gives each tub enough blank rows for the stock inside it.

The details you enter stay on this device. We only count which file was downloaded and how many blank rows it contained.
What to record for each item
Start with the item name, quantity, location, container and tub number. The Excel template also includes status, marketplace, an eBay item number or listing link, notes and optional clothing size. If you use your own stock code, keep it in the item name or notes; there’s no separate SKU column.
Date bought, date listed and date sold help you follow the item’s progress. Cost price, sale price, fees and postage feed the profit calculation. You don’t need to fill every column to make the location record useful.
The Deathpile import sheet carries item names, quantities, locations, container types, tub numbers, notes and optional sizes. It doesn’t import the spreadsheet’s financial figures, dates, status or marketplace links. Keep the Excel file for those details and connect listings in Deathpile after importing.

More than blank rows
The Excel version does the useful work.
A basic list takes five minutes to make. This version saves the setup and keeps doing something once you start filling it in.

Put it to work
Do one storage area at a time.
- 1. Add your locations above. Download the Excel template when the preview looks right.
- 2. Open one tub. Add each item to the rows already marked with that location and tub number.
- 3. Add only the details you’ll use. Item name and location matter. Dates and costs are there when you want the extra reporting.
- 4. Keep it current. If something moves, update its location while it’s in your hand.
Keep using the spreadsheet
Simple stock can stay simple.
If one person runs the stock from one room and the sheet stays current, keep using it. It may be all you need.
When the work changes
A spreadsheet can’t check the physical pick.
Dedicated stock software becomes useful when items move often, several people handle them, or a sale still sends you searching through tubs.
