QR labels
QR labels for items and tubs.
Print labels for your stock and your tubs on the printer you've already got. Every item and every tub gets a scannable code, so nothing's identified by memory.
Stick one on the tub, one on the item, and the two never lose each other again.

Every item and every tub in Deathpile carries a stable scan code. Search your stock, tick what needs labelling, check it at real size, then open a PDF cut to the exact label. It's laid out for a Brother 62 mm roll, Dymo 11354 labels or Avery L7160 sheets, and prints the same in any browser. No label printer? Avery sheets go through an ordinary office printer, and you can start part-way down a used one.
Labels carry the item name, quantity, size, and tub alongside the QR code, so they're readable by humans too. Scanning one resolves straight to the item or tub it belongs to, which is what makes scan-confirmed picking possible.
